Drupa 
  morum are abundant on the intertidal and shallow subtidal rocky reefs to 
  depths of about 3m. The figured specimen is a young shell. Adults usually have 
  heavily encrusted shells hiding the sculpture and color pattern and the aperture 
  is purple.
