Heliacus variegatus (Gmelin, 1791)

Heliacus variegatus is usually found associated with subtidal zoanthids, probably Zoanthus sp. It has an interesting, conical, lamellate operculum. Some references suggest this should be Heliacus areola.

A Zoanthus species. It may not be the one eaten by Heliacus variegatus.
