This large T. squamosa was found with a flat plate of dead table Acropora coral lying over the animal on the left side. Not only has the area shaded on the mantle lost its color, it seems to have shriveled up somewhat, being a lot less stretched out than the rest. Also, notice that the incurrent siphon, which is shown as a narrow fringed slit in most of these T. squamosa photos, is wide open with the gills visible within. Is that also a result of the shading? The obstruction was removed, so with luck this animal will return to normal.
