Clavus
unizonalis is common, usually found in sand on lagoon and seaward
reefs. There seems to be some disagreement in the literature as to what species
this name actually applies. Until
the situation is straightened out, our identification must be regarded as tentative.
Those below seem a bit different,
but are closest to C. unizonalis.
