Hemilienardia
apiculata (Montrouzier, 1864)
7.4mm
This
does not exactly match published figures of Hemilienardia apiculata,
but it is the closest we have seen. These
are moderately rare and found under rocks on lagoon and seaward reefs at depths
over 10m. Empty shells have been brought up in sand samples from about 60m and
one specimen was found in a Kwajalein reef quarry in less than 2m.
6.2mm specimen below.
