Lienardia
cf marchei (Jousseaume, 1884)
5.2mm
The
name Lienardia marchei is one of many names that have been used for
clearly different species in different references. While our specimens our certainly
not conspecific with the other species we are calling Lienardia
marchei, they are similar in form and sculpture to one of the Lienardia
marchei figured in www.gastropods.com,
although that figure does not have the brown spots between the axial ribs and
mid-whorl spiral threads. It is rare
at Kwajalein. It has been found at about 15m under rocks on the seaward
reef, and brought up empty in bags of sand from at least 60m.
