Macteola
sp. 4
5.4mm
This
Macteola is rare
at Kwajalein. The few specimens observed were in rubble on the seaward reef
slope at about 16m or under rocks on lagoon pinnacles. One of the figures in
gastropods.com
shows something like this as Macteola segesta, but the World Register
of Marine Species lists Macteola segesta as a synonym of M. interrupta,
and our specimens look nothing like the syntypes they figure from MNHN.
