Pseudodaphnella
cf rubroguttata (Adams, 1872)
According
to the photo of the holotype posted on gastropods.com,
Pseudodaphnella rubroguttata has similar spotting but the spots are
reddish and the protoconch is white. Since dark brown can fade to reddish brown
in dead specimens, ours need to be compared but will most likely turn out to
be something different. This is
a rare species that has been found under rocks on Kwajalein lagoon pinnacles
and along the lagoon interisland reef.
The one below could be something
different.
