Contradusta bregeriana
(Crosse, 1868)
Breger's
cowry, ~25mm
We saw a fair number of Contradusta
bregeriana on a single night dive drifting down the (possibly) crocodile-infested
Mboli channel that runs through the two main islands of the Florida group (Nggela).
We never saw a croc there, but when we returned to the Solomons for a second
trip a few years later, the divemaster aboard the Spirit of Solomons said there
were definitely salt water crocodiles in the thick mangroves that lined the
channel.

26.9mm shell.
