Ptychodera sp. 2
50mm (mound)

Often in the same areas as Ptychodera sp. 1 are these very tiny spaghetti mounds with tubes only a couple of millimeters in diameter. It is possible these are juveniles of P. sp. 1, but it is curious that we do not see the intermediate sized sand mounds that we would expect to see if they simply started out small and grew into the worms that create the full sized mounds. We did not try to examine this worm, so we are not sure what it looks like.
