Hydrolithon gardineri (Foslie) Verheij & Prud'homme van Reine, 1993

This species forms piles of loose, prickly balls up to about 12cm in diameter on some shallow reefs. The largest and most dense patch we found was on the lagoon side of Ennubuj Island on a flat, mostly hard reef in about 5m of water.
