Radianthus doreensis (Quoy & Gaimard, 1833)
Corkscrew anemone

Radianthus doreensis lives in patches of Halimeda algae on lagoon slopes at depths ranging from about 7 to 30m. If they host anemonefish, it is usually just one or a few small Amphiprion tricinctus and perhaps a few Dascyllus trimaculatus. Often there are also one or two species of commensal shrimp.

The next couple of shots show some that really displays the characteristic corkscrew tentacles.

Individuals bleached when higher temperatures cause them to lose their symbiotic zooxanthellae are sometimes blue.
