This is a medium-sized deeper water species inhabiting the lower depth ranges of sport diving and deeper on the seaward reef at Kwajalein. We have spotted them only on a few occasions, usually at around 60m and usually without a camera. The female (top two photos) is bluish gray with a couple of longitudinal black bands on either side. The male (lowest photo) has a yellow band down the dorsum and one on each side. Generally a group of this species consists of a single male with a small number of females.
