Pomacanthus xanthometapon (Bleeker, 1853)
Yellowmask angelfish, 38cm

This angel is not yet known from the Marshall Islands, but is found at Kosrae and is common at Pohnpei. It would not surprise us if a stray showed up here now and again, possibly during an El Niño when water masses move eastward and may carry along some larvae. But until then, all we have to show are specimens photographed at Pohnpei.
