Grammistes sexlineatus (Thunberg, 1792)
Sixline soapfish, 22cm

Grammistes sexlineatus is moderately common at Kwajalein, where it lives in ledges and small caves in shallow water. A good place to see them is in the small caves around the edges of quarries blasted and dug out of Kwajalein's intertidal seaward reef. The young individual below was photographed by Christina Sylvester.
