Lepas anatifera Linnaeus, 1758

This photo is not from the Marshalls, altough they could have easily drifted in and are included to illustrate how similar these different gooseneck barnacles look. These Lepas were on a drifting buoy that washed ashore on Green Island, Kure Atoll, northwestern Hawaiian Islands. A ghost crab appears to be preparing for a meal.
