Sphyraena obtusata is rare at Kwajalein. We have seen it only once, when we ran across a medium to large school of them on the Kwajalein midlagoon pinnacle known as Shark City on 16 September 2013. Numerous previous and subsequent trips to the same place failed to find any. This is the smallest of the barracuda at Kwajalein.
