Prinz Eugen wreck oil seepage

As recently as August 2014, the Prinz Eugen wreck near the north end of the island of Ennubuj in Kwajalein Atoll was continuing to seep oil after its sinking in December 1946, a few months after surviving a nuclear test at Bikini Atoll, north of Kwajalein. In the first photo below, a slick of leaking oil can be seen drifting toward the lower right corner from the wreck. In 2008, a US Navy team removed about 250,000 gallons of oil, an estimated 97% of the total, from the fuel tanks of the Eugen.

The photos below were captured from low resolution video and show black oil rising from holes in the wreckage and drifting toward the surface, where they flatten out to produce the oil slick.
