Chaetodon ornatissimus Cuvier, 1831
Ornate butterflyfish, 20cm

This species can be found uncommonly on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs. They are usually in pairs, and wander over a home range pecking at live coral polyps, their sole food.

Juveniles (below) look like small versions of the adults and usually are found among branches of Porites or Acropora corals.
