This similar to in growth form to several Montipora species. It seems fairly close to M. foliosa but not enough to identify it as such. It is common on some quiet lagoon reefs and pinnacles. A large stand of it can be found on the eastern side of K9 pinnacle near Kwajalein. Some colonies are similar in color to what we are calling Montipora sp. 1, and the two may simply be different growth forms of the same species.
