Antipatharian sp. 1

This large black coral was common at the base of reefs exposed to swift currents in and out a nearby deep pass in the reef. The large colonies tended to be at least 30m and deeper.

The two photos below looked similar, but were photographed deeper than 50m on the seaward reef. They could be something different.
