Another form of Millepora encrusts the bottom with vertical roughly rectangular columns growing upward. This is comnon on the seaward reef and on lagoon pinnacles, particularly those near passes and exposed to a lot of current. However, they can grow just about anywhere. This form is similar to and may be the same as the paddle variety, and may be just a different growth form.
