Stylaster sp. (thick)

The photos on this page may represent more than one species. They vary in color and somewhat in colony form, but all have thicker branches than most of the other species. They live in some of the same ledges and caves as the common species.

Similar to the ones above, but a bit more fan shapped and light pink to purple.

Similar to the previous one but more orange.

Some get quite orange.

 

The snail Calliostoma ticaonicum has been found apparently feeding Stylaster.

Also occasionally found feeding on Stylaster is the ovulid snail Pedicularia pacifica.
