Pavona cactus (Forskål, 1775)

Pavona cactus is common on some lagoon interisland reefs and pinnacles.

Pavona cactus is subject to coral bleaching when the temperature rises to 30°C.

The next one was in an atypical habitat for P. cactus, cemented to the wall of a seaward reef channel. It looks a bit like photos I've seen of P. frondosa but the photo has been identified on iNaturalist as P. cactus.
