This Dendronephthya has been found sporadically on the seaward reef (upper photo) and on slopes of lagoon pinnacles.
The cluster of colonies below was on a pinnacle on the lagoon side of Onemak Island in August 2009. By September 2013, the patch had severely diminished in size.
