We saw this species only a few times at Kwajalein, mostly on the seaward reef slope. The ID is uncertain. Gosliner et al (1996) figure this as Sinularia dura, but the World Register of Marine Species lists S. dura as a synonym of S. brassica and offers a photo of the species, which does not match our specimens. Colin & Arneson (1995) show the same species as Sinularia frondosa. On iNaturalist, the consensus seems to lean to S. brassica.
