This crab is smaller than Etisus splendidus and differs somewhat in coloration. It could be the variable species Etisus anaglyptus, but considering the variability, there could be more than one species figured here. Also, Etisus anyglyptus is supposed to be a larger crab than those we see. All the specimens figured on this page were on the Kwajalein Atoll seaward reef, hiding under rocks or in caves.
