The identification of this species as Mclaydromia dubia is somewhat tentative. It is one of the sponge crabs, with rear appendages articulating upward and used to hold a clump of sponge over the crab. Over time, the sponge sort of form fits to the shape of the crab's carapace. This one was found in a patch of Halimeda algae on a Kwajalein Atoll lagoon reef.
