Marshall Islands Dragonets (Callionymidae)

The dragonets, sometimes called scooter gobies, are common small bottom dwelling fish that often move in short scoots around the bottom. In the genus Synchiropus, the males tend to have large, flamboyantly patterned dorsal fins used to try to impress shorter finned females. Unless otherwise noted, sizes given are maximum sizes for the species listed in Fishbase, not necessarily the size of the figured specimen.
