We know this in the Marshalls from one specimen observed on a sandy lagoon slope at Kwajalein. Probably the only way one of these is likely to be seen is just like this, with only its head sticking out of the sand, where it waits for prey fish or crustaceans to come close enough to grab. We have seen a number of these in Philippines and Indonesia, but again, only the heads.
