Gymnothorax meleagris (Shaw, 1795)
Whitemouth moray, 120cm

This is one of the more commonly observed species at Kwajalein, since it seems less shy than others and will often stretch well out of its hole. Medium sized morays, they vary quite a lot in pattern, as seen in the photos, but can always be identified by the bright white color inside the mouth.

White mouth indeed.

The body can be a bit blotchy.
