Gymnothorax rueppelliae (McClelland, 1844)
Yellowhead moray, 80cm

This is a reasonably common medium sized moray at Kwajalein, usually seen out hunting at night. The first two shots below were taken in one of the Kwajalein reef quarries by Christina Sylvester.

The photo immediately below is a frame captured from some video shot at night on the atoll's seaward reef.

The one below was photographed in Hawaii, where this was considered a rather aggressive species.
