Parupeneus barberinoides (Bleeker, 1852)
Bicolor goatfish, 30cm

This species is usually seen alone or in small groups on lagoon reefs and mixed algae and sand areas. Small groups of young specimens can be seen in lagoon Halimeda patches. They are reported to reach at least 30cm, although most at Kwajalein seem smaller.

Using its chin barbels to dig in the sand for worms and other prey.
