Cryptocentrus strigilliceps (Jordan & Seale, 1906)
Target shrimpgoby, 12cm

This species is common in some areas at Kwajalein, particularly on and around lagoon shipwrecks. The silty holds on the small freighters at North Loi and Ebwaj Island always have multiple specimens.

The alpheid shrimp carries a load of silty sand and shell fragments out of the burrow in the hold of a lagoon shipwreck.

The shrimp stirs up the fine mucky sediment as it drops its load.
