Panulirus femoristriga (von Martens, 1872)
300mm

Panulirus femoristriga is relatively common at Kwajalein, usually found in small groups in seaward reef caves. They can be readily distinguished from the other two Kwajalein spiny lobsters by the heavily spotted tail.

Orange eggs visible under tail.

In the next two photos, the lobster at lower left is actually Panulirus versicolor, who was sharing the same cave with a group of P. femoristriga.
