Chanos chanos (Forsskål, 1775)
Milkfish, 180cm

Chanos chanos is a large fish with a maximum size of about 180cm, although most of those we see are quite a bit smaller. At Kwajalein, they seem to prefer lagoon reefs where they can be seen on the edge of the lagoon slope, often feeding on algae growing on the sand.
