Scarus altipinnis (Steindachner, 1879)
Minifin parrotfish, 60cm

This large parrot often forms large schools in shallow water on lagoon and seaward reef. The first two shots show terminal males sleeping on the reef at night.

A school of reddish brown initial phase and green terminal phase parrots.

These often have an algae "mustache" growing on their green teeth.

A sleeping parrot with a small isopod crustacean crawling near the mouth.

Juvenile.

Younger juveniles.
