Ember parrotfish, 70cm

This is one of the larger parrotfish species at Kwaj and is sometimes difficult to get close to. The terminal male is mostly green, somewhat grayish in the front half.

Asleep next to Millepora fire coral at night.

Initial phase. One or more of these often accompany a single terminal male.

Mostly initial phase parrots gather in schools on some shallow seaward reefs.
