Acromegalomma sp. 3

These were abundant on some sand flats and sandy slopes along the Kwajalein Atoll lagoon reef. This may be the same as Acromegalomma sp. 2.

A large stingray had just been digging in the sand at right, possibly feeding on these worms. The exposed tubes through the center shows their abundance. Large expanses seemed composed primarily of worm tubes with a little sand in the cracks between them.

Large sandy areas, occasionally covered with low algae, were sometimes loaded with these worms.
