These variable worms are often found on a variety of different sea cucumber species but sometimes on other substrates. The first photos shows the worm on Thelenota ananas.
The next two are on Bohadschia koellikeri.
The worms below blend in well on the usually sand covered black sea cucumber Holothuria atra.
Somewhat surprisingly (to me at least), the worms can also be found on some of the elongate, flaccid sea cucumber species such as the Synapta maculata immediately below.
