Arothron caeruleopunctatus Matsuura, 1994
Bluespotted puffer, 80cm

This species is moderately rare at Kwajalein. We see occasional individuals on the seaward reef, on the slope or in surge channels. A large species, it is reported to reach about 80cm. It is rather shy and difficult to approach; most of our photos are captured from zoomed-in video.

Asleep in a ledge at night.
