The porcupinefish or spiny puffers are capable of taking in water to puff up into a ball of rigid, sharp spines, presumably to make themselves larger and harder to swallow. In addition, these fish are poisonous to eat, at least for humans. Two species are known from the Marshalls. Unless otherwise noted, sizes given are maximum sizes for the species listed in Fishbase, not necessarily the size of the figured specimen.
