Lutjanus fulvus (Forster, 1801)
Blacktail snapper, 40cm

Lutjanus fulvus is moderately common at Kwajalein on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs. It is usually found in small or medium sized schools.

We assume this one with the yellow bars photographed by Jay Lord is a young specimen. It measured 8cm or less.
