Acanthurus triostegus is common at Kwajalein, but usually only in very shallow water along the reef. We also see them on the tops of large shallow lagoon pinnacles such as the one called Marita Shoals, where it forms schools grazing on algae. Tiny juveniles are often common in reef tide pools.
