Hologymnosus annulatus (Lacepède, 1801)
Ring wrasse, 40cm

These are uncommon on seaward reefs. Adults are rarely seen. The one immediately below was photographed by Jay Lord on Kwajalein Atoll's seaward reef.

The remaining photos are all of juveniles, which usually live in the sand and rubbly bottoms of surge channels.
