Iniistius celebicus (Bleeker, 1856)
Bronzespot razor wrasse

These were often seen in seaward reef sand patches, but seemed to disappear in recent years and we do not yet have a good still photograph. Our photos were captured from low resolution video frames filmed in the 1990s. The fish somewhat resemble Iniistius aneitensis but are typically smaller and adults have a large brown blotch on their side posterior to the pectoral fin and another near the tail. Better photos can be seen on Fishbase.

Juvenile coloration.
