This page links to photos of the few sea anemones and their relatives that we photographed in Hawaii. These photos were all taken before the mid 1980s using slide film. We did not make a special effort to find and photograph anemones and most of our limited supply of film frames were saved for other subjects, so these pages represent only a very small fraction of the anemone species that are sure to be there. Animals that resemble anemones are in fact not always too closely related and are distributed across several orders in the phylum Cnideria. Many of our species are only tentatively identified to genus or species. Coloration within many species is highly variable. We welcome corrections at uwkwaj@yahoo.com..
