Murichorda sp. 1
20.75mm
These are sometimes figured as Muricodrupa fiscella (e.g., www.gastropods.com)
or earlier as Cronia triangulata (in Cernohorsky (1978)). Our specimens
are shorter and proportionally wider than what we are calling Murichroda
fischellum, and lack the deep, dark stained depressions between the
axial ribs and spiral chords. However, there appears to be some variation in
shell morphology, and it is possible they are the same species. These are moderately
common under rocks on lagoon and pinnacle reefs.
