Nudibranch - Asteronotus raripilosa

Asteronotus raripilosa is a large nudibranch (100mm) we have found only once before at night. It is extremely cryptic and blends in perfectly with the algae it lives in. This one was found buried in the sand near a large egg mass it had recently produced on Halimeda algae. Nudibranchs this size are few and far between in this area.
