Ascarosepion latimanus (Quoy
& Gaimard, 1832)
Broadclub cuttlefish
A common and variable cuttlefish
on muck sites is Ascarosepion latimanus. This species usually has yellow
around the eye and often has a blue spotted fin rim. However, it is extremely
variable and we sometimes find it hard to distinguish some variations from species
of Acanthosepion. It is possible not all those figured below are the
same species.

The one below was a particularly
large individual.
